Both Primrose Metallic AND Primrose Mist Metallic?

I just got back from negotiating the price of the CL I wanna buy, but now I'm having 2nd thoughts.

I thought the CL was silver, but when I parked my girlfriend's car (a Stone Silver Mazda Precidia) next to the CL it looked champagne or even a bit purplish to me!

Are there any SILVER 1998 3.0 CLs, or is this as close as I get?

I'm thinking about Black now, not sure about the pinkish thing.

Any comments? Very eager to hear about this.

Also, Edmunds.com says that there are TWO Primrose Colors available on the 1998 3.0 CL, one called "Primrose Metallic" and another called "Primrose Mist Metallic"

Is that right? If so what's the difference? Any examples?

I have the primrose 98 3.0 and dig it. If I had a choice I would choose it again. In certain lights it seems silver, in other it seems purplish...

Sorry though, no silver...that's what I was aiming for too. And there should be no difference in the two primrose colors.

Check this link out, it looks REALLY pink in this picture, that's why I'm brooding over it at home (cuz this is the only picture I have of the actual car).

Pink, eh?

I guess it is a bit distinctive though, kind of a "p. diddy/sean john" colour.

Car's tight. I ran it well over 100mph on the highway and it just slices through air w/no vibration. Doors close w/a solid "thud". Premium gear, stock fogs. Engine purrs.

Gonna compression-test it Friday, maybe I'll be an owner then!

I still can't get over the size of the windshield!! I feel like I'm inside a giant fishtank!!

If the compression test checks out (which it should); GO FOR IT!
I've seen 1genCL's Primrose Mist CL, and it looks great!

You'll be very happy with your CL!

Well it all boils down to your preference. Honestly i Mean you can get our opinions, but if you dun like it right now from that pic, don't get this color. I can vouch for it, it is like that in real life from certain angles. Hmm lemme try and find a post with another primrose cl.

I have Primrose Mist and I love the depth of the paint. I love this color. By the way, made an appointment at the dent wizard to pull all my dents out too. Not a bad way to spend $250.00.

Just to clarify what someone else said, Edmunds is a little mixed up. The official name of the color is primrose mist metallic. It's classy, sporty, and just different enough from all those silver cars on the road to be distinctive! Then again, I have yet to see a color on the CL that I strongly dislike...

Thanx for all the responses guys, I appreciate the input.

I do love the car (top-end on the thing is insane!), and am 90% certain I'm going for it (haggled a good deal too).

Looking forward to posting mod questions in near future!!

Cheers,

well yea it is pinkish in tint... Its called PRIMROSE because of that misty haze pink tinge... Thats the reason I went white! Black is common among CLs as is white... my next choice after white would be the blue or red!

I think the wine red looks real nice. None were available when I looked for my used CL. I "settled" for white. I've gotten used to it and sure it gets dirty but you can't see swirls as good. Black is tight too but swirls show and so does dirt. No happy medium there either.

I aint mad.

Well, my wife does tease me a lot about my "pink" car.

I think that pimpin' gold color was only available on a few hundred of the first new CL Type-S. Unless you mean the tan/gold/beige/whatever for our style?

No harm in bumping such an old thread, because he at least had something really insightful and relevant to say.

"Are there two primrose colors?"

..8 years later...

"love my cl"

Something tells me he is trying to up his post count for black market or PM or something. Strange place to do it though..
