Car shaking!!

Hey guys my cl started shaking the other day out of no where while driving. No CEL, but my maintenance light has been on for a while. Its got about 112,000 miles now and I havent done the 100k mile maintenance yet.... The shaking starts as soon as I start my car and while I drive, haven't drove it in a month. Think it could be a spark plug misfire? or would that throw a code? PLEASSE HELLLPP!!

either way I need to change the plugs and oil. So I'm off to autozone to stock up. ((anyone know where I can find a FREE pdf of the service manual??))

if it shakes/studders at idle, its likely a spark plug or wire issue. I would start with that first since its not expensive to fix. It doesnt HAVE to throw a code if the plugs are bad....although it can if its bad enough.

That fixed it, runs beautifully now!! Now just gotta change the oil and I'll be good. Instead of replacing the timing belt, can I just check it for cracks or significant wear?? Little short on cash at the moment.

If thats a risk you want to take. Personally I would do the timing belt service. Its not just the belt that wears, the water pump and tensioner are also wear items.

Our cars take 4.5qts btw.

Can't tell the condition by a visual inspection. Save up the $$ and get it done.
