Did my second coilover installation today :) New K sports ftw.
Well, after riding around on tein SS's for a month, i decided to make a switch to Ksports, i really like the 36 way dampening and 12/7 spring rate.
Anyways, the person who bought my Teins was local to me, and wanted me to install them so i figured, let's do it on the same day.
So we got started at around 9:30 this morning, WITHOUT the K sports they were on their way from cali.
11:00 rolls around and Fed ex shows up with my K sports.
We did the swap and it took all in all about 5 or 6 hours, which isnt bad considering we had to uninstall, and install 8 coilovers.
I will get some pictures up tomorrow after i get her a wash.
The K sports ride GREAT. Florida roads are not too bumpy for me.

How hard is the install? I helped my mechanic do my springs, and the fronts seemed easy. I took the seats out. But the rears seemed to give the guy some problems. It was hard to get the whole assembly out. I miiiight be able to get some basics soon.

Personally, I think the rears are cake. I did my rears in under an hour. And then turned around and did his rears in under and hour. Springs can definitely be a big pain in the ass. because you gotta uncompress, decompress, put them on the new shock. A full coilover unit is just a very solid thing to install.
The "bolt" that probably game him some issues was probably the endlink bolt. It doesnt look as if it needs to come out, but it does. And to get it out, you need to hold it in place with an allen key, and take a crescent wrench twist away. It is a pain in the ass, but once you get that out, you are golden.
I would say give it a shot yourself. There's not much you can screw up on, UNLESS you undo the top hat bolts BEFORE you take the whole assembly out. That will cause a mess of troubles.
If it were just me, swapping my Teins to K sports, i bet i could get it done pretty quickly. Then again, i recently installed my Teins, so i was pretty familiar with what went where.
Just need a good ratchet set and a basic set of hand tools. Air tools would cut your time literally in half.

Oh, and the fronts are no fun. The control arm just gets in the way and the whole unit is just a big pain to pull out. It's very cumbersome so it takes alot of wiggling and maneuvering to get it out of its place.
All in all, I think it is a very good way to learn about what goes to what in the front and rear suspension. I've learned quite a bit about the do's and don'ts of this install. I'm glad i did it myself.

I love working on things myself, and i'm pretty handy. The coilovers would be all ready assembled IF i get them. I remember taking the top hats off when i did the springs, and we only had to put some weight on the spring to get it off. Maybe i will try it myself. Ya i think that was the bolt. Once it was out, the whole thing slid down. Thanks

We had to jack up my hub because there was too much pressure on it.

Guys,
Do you know what the drop range is for K-Sports? It's not mentioned on their web-site.
alxmlr789 - It looks like you up front definitely went lower than the min drop!
