Wow. Im surprised they are making them for the 6MT and with one flex pipe. A 2" collector is very small though. They used to be 2.5". Mine were on the car for about 80k miles. The flex pipe is beginning to show its age but they were perfectly fine otherwise. I did have the welds reinforced though.

Good looking out just ordered a spare set. Can't beat that price. I guess everyone's emails finally got through to them. My first set is still going strong and should last for a long time since I moved to the south but still good to have a spare.

Damn those are some nice headers Civic, but I am assuming that is an old pic because your axle is rusted as $&@! No wonder it snapped, I might change mine just from seeing your pics! Wonder if these are worth ordering as a spare set for my CT ones?

That pic was taken in the middle of December. What you see in the pic is actually the intermediate shaft, its just the housing thats rusted. Im not too worried about it.

So is the single flex pipe better than two flex pipes? Can someone explain the flex pipe info to me please? I'm guessing there have been problems with flex pipes wearing out.

Man, now I really want a set of these. Im planning on doing a 6speed swap in the near future. I wonder if I could just order the 6speed ones and put them on the automatic, that way i don't have to order two sets.
wishful thinking......

Yes you can. 6 speed is compatible with auto but not vice versa. Also if and when you do the swap I have the console, shifter, cupholder, etc. Since you are local...

The flex pipe is there simply to absorb movement when the engine torques back and forth. There is no reason for the second flex pipe if they were fabricated properly - but they werent. So they needed the extra flex as an easy way to make them fit instead of scrapping them and starting fresh.

They were too small.

The flex pipe should absorb some of the shock from a worn mount, but over time it still takes its toll. Plus, the poor quality flex pipe on the XS headers dont help matters.

Thanx for the info, I think I might just pull the trigger on these and have them re welded before installation.

Do you guys think I screwed up by not having an email dialogue with them before buying the headers? Like I said, I emailed them months ago with no response.

I got these headers from them in july and i have a 6 speed but for some reason mine has 2 flex pipes but i have innovative mounts and ive had no problem. There was also tabs welded from the pipes to the head flange to help prevent cracks. Id say thier much better than the old design which broke in one month.

They jacked up the prices.

The SS Autochrome website still has them listed as $125, but out of stock. Email them and specifically mention that you saw them on the SS Autochrome site for that much and find out whats up.

SS Autochrome = XS Power

That sucks. Those headers are not worth $260.

The ssautochrome site charges shipping, so they come out to $160. Not as bad, but sill unfortunate. I should have bought them before, but the stupid Out of Stock balloon had me worried.

Tell me about it I emailed service@ssautochrome today. They have 5 business days to at least respond to me before I open a formal complaint on paypal and get my credit card company involved.

Well emailing service did the trick It has already shipped and should be at my house today, lol. They sent me the tracking number and all. Now to see if they are of the 6 speed variety.

Pretty impressive for $130 gets you the product and fedex shipping from China to the US in less than a week.

You guys are lucky to have gotten it while they were $130.

Total2f, if you refresh the page, it will become $260. Your browser just cached the old data.

Got 'em, they look great. $260 is a bargain, $130 is a steal. The welds all look well penetrated and the slag is cleaned up generally very well. Better than I was expecting.
