I put the spare key into the igntion.

So in a moment of weakness when I had left my keyring on a jobsite during a lunch break and tried to start my car with the spare door key that has no transponder. The ignition won't relinquish the key and I have to hold my original key next to the steering column to start the car. I am looking for a way to remove the key that doesn't involve a new ignition switch or tearing the $h*& out of the column.

I checked all the threads I could and no one else is fessing up to this.

Fixed. Just used some pliers to grip the key. Shot small kine WD40 into the tumbler, kept pressure turning back to the "0" position and struck the back of the key with a hammer with progressively stronger strikes until the key jarred and returned to the 0 position(I did all this after taking the top and bottom panels off the column, unhooked and unscrewed all kinds of things that I have no idea what they do and saw nothing that would release the key without doing some damage. The taking apart of everything appears to have been unnecessary). The tumblers were a little sticky. Understandable as I have had this key stuck in there for almost 3 years and the car has been sitting. Worked the ignition a few times and everything seems kosher.

Now on to the IACV since it's doing that funny 800 to 2500 RPM revving at idle.

Thanks for the interest and hope this helps out someone else.
