Factory alarm doesn't beep

I did a quick search through the archives but I didn't find anything that seemed to help for the gen 2 CL-S.

Here is the problem:
I went off on vacation and for some reason one of the map lights got left on (okay, I left it on). The battery was dead when I got back home and after getting a jump start the car was fine. But the alarm was acting odd. I can lock and unlock the way I always did but there is no "beep" when I push the lock button twice. Anyone have this problem and know the solution? I like the added "beep" to let me know that my baby is all locked up! Any help is very appreciated. Thanks!

same thing happened to me, you have to order the "beeper" at the dealer.

Try resetting it. Kill the battery, & then take the memory fuse out of the passenger side fuse panel.

I purchased a couple of remotes for a 01 CL and after programming I noticed the lights and "beep" didnt work when locking. I tried this and it worked instantly:

Push the "Lock" and "trunk" buttons down at the same time for approx 3-4 seconds. To turn the sound off you can repeat the process.
