Oxidation on headlight cover
Guys, what's the best stuff to use on headlight covers. I've been going to a carwash and now it seems like my covers are getting some kind of oxidation on them. Is there some kind of cleaner I can use on them?? I saw something at Discount Tire but it was over 50 bucks. I may have to post a pic if needed

Oxidation on headlight cover
Hey, I've been checkin out products. One thing was clear, try a non abrasive product first if the lens is not already scratched. Once you use a rubbing compound or wet sanding you may damage the lens. De-oxidation products are out there, use a small amount on a paper towel and wipe. cleans off all that yellow stuff!!
If that does not do the trick then go into rubbing compounds, like PlasticX. There are $50 kits available with different levels of grit for rough to smooth grinding available if you have extreme damage.
Last you may need wet sanding. This is extreme and you may end up applying it on a regular basis to keep up appearances.

Ok, so a little late to this but good info below.
After a little researching I came across this Consumer Reports article: Headlight Restoration Kit Buying Guide and decided to go with the Sylvania Headlight Restoration kit.
It worked perfectly and I hd enough left over to do a 2nd set of headlights on one of my other vehicles.

I saw on youtube that toothpaste works and I tried it . . .DAMN!! It took alot of it off mine; not as good as Meguiars or any of the others on the market I'm sure, but I can definitely tell the difference. Plus, they have a minty fresh smell lolol . . .
