Alternator Bracket Break...
So a couple of days ago I started up my CL and heard something on the serpentine belt screaming, so I pop the hood and discover that the belt is loose. I immediately assume that the belt tensionor is my problem, so did my mechanic friend, $60 dollars and many hours later I still had a loose belt... Out of desperation and a need to get to work the next day I just put a belt on that was about an inch shorter, worked like a charm, but today after close inspection I realized that my problem was the top mounting bracket for the alternator had snapped in half. All the junk yards around here are closed tomorrow (sunday) and I don't get off in time to hit one up after work next week. I really don't wanna just let the alternator ride with one bolt for very long, Does anyone know where I could buy one online? I found a universal mounting bracket on auto zone's website but it looks like cheap crap... It's a '98 CL with 3.0

Ive had an issue with this b4 on mine, but my alt is an oversize high amp to support the system. Bracket snapped at the corners cuz of hvy weight and red-lining more than i needed to. I actually just went and had welder fix it. no probs since. just have to keep an eye on it

[UPDATE]
So I finally got the alternator bracket monday, I called a local Honda dealership and luckily they had one in stock (Only about $16 as opposed to $38.64 @ acuraoemparts.com) and that's where my luck ran out... the shorter belt that I put on exerted too much tension on the one bolt that was holding my alternator on and it snapped off in the block. I had to take it to a mechanic to get the remainder of the bolt out of my engine ($140). On the bright side, the new bracket I got from honda seems a little more heavy duty than the original. I could also see that this had happened before on the car and they just spot welded the bracket back together.
a pic of the old bustedbracket
here's the new one
Also if you order it from www.oemacuraparts.com (thanks to timeizmoney22) the top bracket is the one I circled in red, part# 31113-P8A-A00.

Well I'm not sure where you're located so it may or may not be a drive for you to Tennessee but I got mine at Redell Honda of Murfreesboro. Any certified Honda or Acura dealership should have a parts department that can hook you up with the part though. FYI the alternator ended up breaking loose again (on the engine block side not the bracket) and I got rid of the old CL.
